Somerville Hotel's Awards

The Somerville Hotel has won a variety of awards for offering luxury Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in Torquay, whether your visiting the English Riviera for a Holiday, Weekend Break or for Business.

This award celebrates the best in the West and we are proud to be the gold award winner of the SouthWest Tourism award for Bed & Breakfast, Guest Accommodation and Inn of the year for the SouthWest of England 2010/11.

Awarded Devon B&B /Guest Accommodation of the Year in October 2010 this followed a process which included an anonymous visit from an assessor.

In addition to our five star award we have received an additional gold accolade which is an acknowledgement of our commitment to high standards particularly in service and hospitality. We are one of only two establishments to have received this award in the Bay.

Our five star grading is a recognition of our delivery of high standards in all areas of the operation of our business. In order to gains this grading we are subject to anonymous annual inspections.

The breakfast award is given in recognition of the quality and range of breakfast that we provide for our guests.

First awarded a silver grading in 2008, this award comes as a result of an audit and inspection conducted face to face every two years. Please click on the icon to view our environmental policy.

In order to be included in the marketing of britian's finest we are subjected to a vetting procedure which examines a number of things to ensure we qualify.

In 2009 we were a finalist in the HRS hotel excellence awards for marketing, in 2010 we were finalists again in but in the Best Value for Money (small hotels) section. In order to qualify we had to submit applications and undertake face to face interviews with assessors.
